Race day is earned in the weeks before you ever reach the start line. From schedules to course maps, everything you need to show up ready is right here. Make the most of every mile on your journey and we’ll see you on race week.

Start Line & Times

Get there early and soak it in.

All distances begin at 525 S Tryon Street between Brooklyn Village Ave and Levine Ave of the Arts, with corrals opening at 6:30am. This is your moment before the miles begin and we encourage you to arrive early, find your people, and let the energy of the city carry you to the start line.

Marathon + Half Marathon

Chick-fil-A 5K

  • Start 7:35am
  • Corrals close 7:05am

Runners who miss their start window will receive gun time as their official finish time.

First Finishers

The finish line is where race day comes alive. Expect the first finishers to arrive around 7:55am for the Chick-fil-A 5K, 8:35am for the half marathon, and 9:50am for the marathon. Come to celebrate the front of the pack and stay to cheer every single runner home.

Awards

Every finisher is celebrated at the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, but the awards ceremony is where the top performers get their moment. Plan to be there and cheer on the runners who pushed the pace all the way to the finish line.

Awards go to the top 3 overall finishers for the 5K and half marathon and top 5 overall for the marathon, plus the top 3 in every age group across all distances.

Must be present to receive your award.

Results

Your results are never far away thanks to our friends at Start2Finish. Scan the QR code on your bib, enter your bib number, and see how you ran the Queen City.

Finish Line Festival

Every runner deserves a finish line worth running toward. The Finish Line Festival is where race day turns into a full on Queen City celebration, open to runners, spectators, and everyone who came out to be part of it. Details dropping soon so keep an eye out.

FAQs

What are the age requirements for the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon?

5k – 6 years old and able to complete the 5k on their own are welcome to run/walk with an 18+ adult. Any age in a stroller is welcome to join with a registered 18+ adult.
Half Marathon – 16 years old minimum
Full Marathon – 18+ however if you feel an exception is warranted, please reach out to charlottemarathon@s2fsupport.freshdesk.com

Is the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon a certified Boston Marathon qualifying race?

Yes, the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon is a certified Boston Marathon qualifying race. Potential qualifiers for the 2026 Boston Marathon must meet designated time standards corresponding with their age group and gender.

The following are qualifying standards set by the Boston Marathon:

  • Achieving one’s qualifying standard does not guarantee entry, but simply the opportunity to submit for registration.
  • The acceptance of official race entrants will be based on qualifying time, with the fastest qualifiers (in relation to their age and gender) being accepted first until the race is full.
  • Only a certified full marathon distance will be accepted for qualifying. Distances shorter than a full marathon will not be accepted.
  • All qualifying times are subject to review and verification.
  • Minimum age requirement for the Boston Marathon is 18 on race day.
  • All standards are based on official submitted net time.

How do I update my participant information?

Log into your RunSignUp account, click the top right circle, select profile. There you can update your address, phone number, email address, emergency contact, user name and password.

Can I change or switch events?

Yes, to switch events, log into your RunSignUp account, click the top right circle, my races, Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, manage registration and select transfer event from the menu.

Can I defer my registration?

Yes, registrations can be deferred once. To defer your registration, log into your RunSignUp account, click the top right circle, my races, Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, manage registration and select Defer Registration from the menu.

Can I transfer my registration?

Yes, to transfer your registration, log into your RunSignUp account, click the top right circle, my races, Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, manage registration and select transfer to another runner event from the menu.

Do you offer a military discount?

Yes, we offer a military discount. Please email charlottemarathon@s2fsupport.freshdesk.com for a discount code before you register. We are unable to offer retroactive discounts.

Is there a bag check available on Race Day?

Race day bag check is located at the corner of Mint Street and MLK Jr Blvd. courtesy of Gentle Giant.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are welcome at all events; please start near the back of the pack. We do not have a separate stroller division.

Are dogs allowed?

We love dogs, but they are not permitted on the course.

Where can I find restrooms on Race Day?

In addition to porta-potties located along the race course at every aid station, bathrooms at Truist Field are open from 6:00am – 12:30pm.

Are there family restrooms and Mothers’ Room available?

Yes, family restrooms and a Mothers’ Room is available inside Truist Field on the concourse level. Please enter up the main steps and follow the signs to your left.
