The Charlotte Sports Foundation (CSF) announced today the prize money for the professional field at the first-ever Meck Mile presented by Albemarle. The purse of $20,000 will be split equally between male and female participants and the prize money will be distributed among the top six finishers in each pro division.

Offering active fun for participants of all skill levels, the Meck Mile was created to celebrate physical movement, from a participant’s first race to their fastest. The Memorial Day Weekend event will start with two laps outside the recently renovated 86-year-old stadium and end at midfield, with opportunities for walkers and runners ranging from recreational to highly competitive. Participants will experience a lively course featuring music activations, highlighted by a finish line festival on the field.

“Our team is creating a world-class event, and we believe it will be an awesome experience for anyone that crosses the finish line,” said CSF’s executive director Danny Morrison. “This course and the race will have incredible energy and we eagerly anticipate the presence of some of the world’s fastest runners in Charlotte.”

The carefully designed course guarantees a swift and fully certified mile road race, promising participants an unforgettable journey in the heart of the city.

“The Meck Mile boasts a course that is not only dynamic and fast but also certified by USA Track and Field to meet the highest standards. We are looking forward to a one-of-a-kind race atmosphere and some very fast times,” said Start2Finish Owner Jen Forsyth.
