Charlotte, N.C. – The Charlotte Sports Foundation (CSF) announced the election of Bob Morgan to its Board of Directors today. Morgan who serves as the President and CEO of the Charlotte Chamber brings a wealth of experience that will be beneficial in helping CSF in its goal to secure large sporting events that enhance the economy and quality of life in the Charlotte region.
“We are thrilled with the addition of Bob Morgan to the Board,” said Johnny Harris, Board Chairman of the Charlotte Sports Foundation. “In over 10 years leading the Charlotte Chamber he has proven himself to be instrumental in the growth of Charlotte and the surrounding region. We are confident that he will be a tremendous asset to the Charlotte Sports Foundation.”
As President and CEO of the Charlotte Chamber, Bob Morgan oversees all aspects of the nonprofit’s operations, including its finances, economic development and pro-business public policy efforts, member engagement programs, and sales and communications.
Morgan was named president and CEO of the Charlotte Chamber in 2005 after serving the same role at the Gaston Chamber. He served on the staff of the Charlotte Chamber from 1991-2002
Morgan is a graduate of Independence High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“It would be impossible to place a value on the positive exposure that the Charlotte Sports Foundation brings to our city and region. Their work is beneficial to the chamber’s recruitment of jobs and investment. It will be an honor to serve on their Board of Directors,” said Morgan.
