Charlotte Sports Foundation announces Jason Mengel named to Board of Directors

Charlotte, N.C. The Charlotte Sports Foundation (CSF) announced the election of Jason Mengel, Championship Director of the 2017 PGA Championship that is to be held at Quail Hollow Club, to its Board of Directors on Wednesday, April 20th. As the Director of one of the largest golf events in the world Mengel will bring an incredible amount of industry experience and knowledge to CSF.

“We are delighted to have Jason Mengel join the Board,” said Johnny Harris, Board Chairman of the Charlotte Sports Foundation. “He is a tremendous addition to the Charlotte community and we look forward to utilizing his expertise to help guide CSF.”

Mengel previously has served as the Championship Director of the 2015 PGA Championship, the 2013 Senior PGA Championship, and served in a variety of capacities for the 2011 PGA Championship, the 2008 PGA Championship and prior to that, the PGA TOUR’s Buick Open. Mengel is a graduate of Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business.
